1998 Glen Manor Chardonnay


Palate

Creamy, silky and soft with a pineapple and toasty finish.

Aromas

Melon, sweet corn, pear and butterscotch.

Food Pairings

Butter and cream dishes like scallops or oysters glazed in a beurre blanc, lobster newberg, or scalloped potatoes baked in cream.

Vineyard

Glen Manor Vineyards is owned and operated by Jeff White who is also part of the Linden Vineyards staff. Glen Manor is on the west slope of the Blue Ridge about 7 miles west of Linden Vineyards at an elevation of 1,100 ft. Soils are deep and well drained. Vines were 4 years old at harvest and trained on the French lyre trellising system.

Winemaking

The wine was 100% barrel fermented and aged in French oak for 11 months. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged sur lie. 280 cases produced
