2016 Avenius Sauvignon Blanc

These vines are over twenty years old and the nature of the wine is very different than when the vines were more youthful. The wine now reflects its origin (terroir) more than varietal character. As vines get older their wines become more complex and mineral. This Sauvignon Blanc also needs more aging in order to become expressive. We now wait until the second spring of the wine’s life before releasing.
