Next Step: Fiano

Jonathan and I are just back from the region of Irpinia (also known as Avellino) in southern Italy. We were there to learn about a grape that I had frankly never heard of a decade ago. Fiano produces a white wine of great character and aging potential. Its stellar performance in Linden's Climate Change Trial Vineyard seemed like our first grape to graduate from experimental to commercial. But before undertaking a larger planting we needed to go to the source. So we made appointments and spent an intense three days meeting with growers and winemakers.

December Special Tastings

Since it is our down time in production, we have some special tastings to share at the end of the year. After the first two weekends in December, we will be closed until January 17, 2025.  

Abridged Library Tasting

December Fridays

Time and only time gives complexity and harmony to wine that is impossible to hasten. Linden wines benefit from age. This is true for both whites and reds. Over the past ten years we have been holding back vintages with intention. On special occasions, we share them. Fridays in December are going to be that special occasion. We'll open older vintages to taste and enjoy by the wood stove.
Fridays only - December 6 & 13. $25 per person.

Tank Tasting of 2023 Vintage

December Saturdays and Sundays

This winter we will bottle the 2023 wines, but the raw power of this vintage may require a lot of patience before we release the wines to market. This December we'll give you an opportunity to taste before bottling. The people who grew the grapes and made the wine will be pouring the wines. At each station, you will taste the 2023 vintage from tank alongside an older vintage from bottle. This is a great way to experience how wines evolve and change with age. Simple but thoughtful food pairings will accompany the eight wines.

Saturdays and Sundays - December 7 & 8 and 14 & 15. $100 per person.
