The Shift

Warmer, almost summer like weather over the weekend brought a welcome shift. Yes, I know that we are back to March weather for the rest of the week, but one needs to take advantage of any glimmers of hope.

This is the first time I have welcomed the arrival of gnats. Carpenter bees also. Grass seed heads poke out and tree frog chirps are replacing peepers.

The vines are still hesitant. Their growth cycle started very early, but has now fallen to behind. What looked like an early season and therefore possibly early harvest is now late. 

These weather cycles dictate our days and change our plans. While it can be frustrating, this is what we are used to and adapt accordingly.
