The Shift

At least for now. We escaped cold damage by a few degrees. Our new climate reality of weather variability and temperature fluctuations has increased anxiety levels. Early budding varieties of Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are out and now frost susceptible. All other varieties will be out by the end of next week.

Last year we had a Mother’s Day freeze that resulted in some lost yields. So far this year the only thing we have lost is sleep.
